Plastic pelletizer is an important plastic processing equipment used to process waste plastic into granular form for reuse. It works by processing plastic materials into a granular state through heating, pressure and extrusion for subsequent re-processing or production use. However, some common problems are often encountered when operating plastic granulators.

Can different plastic materials utilize the same pelletizing line?

Different types of plastic raw materials, such as PP, PE, PET, PVC and PS, cannot be pelletized in the same plastic pelletizing line due to differences in their properties. This is because each raw material has a different melting point and processing. The design of a plastic pelletizer needs to be customized to the requirements of the specific raw material to ensure optimal processing and product quality.

Temperature control during granulation

For pelletizing PP and PE raw materials, a temperature control of 240 degrees is required. However, it is worth mentioning that plastic pelletizers can operate at temperatures up to 500 degrees. This high operating temperature helps to melt the plastic material sufficiently for subsequent extrusion molding.

Pelletizing line energy consumption

The whole plastic granulating line needs to consume about 500 degrees of electricity to process one ton of raw materials. And a whole plastic pelletizing line only needs 3-4 workers. Despite its relatively high consumption, the equipment’s highly efficient processing capacity and production efficiency are still important advantages to attract users.

What is the working principle of plastic pelletizer?

The extruder needs to be preheated before working. Plastic raw material enters the extruder through the inlet, and after melting at high temperature, the melted plastic material is extruded into granules by the pressure generated by the rotation of the screw.

How to produce different colored pellets?

In order to produce plastic pellets of different colors, it is only necessary to add the appropriate pigments during the pelletizing process. However, the exact formulation needs to be customized according to the user’s needs and color requirements.
